AMANDA TAYLOR MEDICAL /CANNABIS PATIENT ADVOCATE
My name is Amanda Taylor and MEDICAL CANNABIS SAVED MY LIFE! I am currently battling 7 debilitating diseases, one being Multiple Sclerosis, and I have 45 lesions on my brain and one on my spine. Despite these turbulent times, I have persevered and remained consistent in my quest to achieve everything possible to assist and educate others on the medicinal benefits of Medical Cannabis. When I wasn’t responsive to traditional medication, my team of doctors wanted to implant a gastric pacemaker due to a disease called Gastroparesis. I was told that this was my only option, despite the low survival and success rate associated with the procedure. At the time, I was so sick from uncontrollable vomiting that I lost over 70 pounds, and my quality of life was poor at best. I was prescribed the drug Marinol, a synthetic marijuana, which is typically given to Cancer and Aids patients at the end of their life to battle nausea and help with appetite. However, it triggered challenging side effects for my body and was astronomically expensive. At 90 pounds, I asked my team of doctors if Medical Cannabis would help. They agreed that I would benefit from its medicinal properties, however, they were unable to prescribe Medical Cannabis seeing as it was illegal in the state of Alabama. It was then that I became a Medical Refugee. I moved 3000 miles away to Flagstaff, Arizona, and became a legal Medical Cannabis patient. I went to work in the Medical Cannabis Industry to attain additional information and to educate myself on the medicinal benefits of the plant, as medication not only for myself but for others who were suffering. I was the first person in Arizona to work for Arizona Medical Marijuana Doctors, GREENPHARMS Dispensary, and MadTerpLabs, a concentrate company. In my time in the Medical Cannabis Industry, I worked hard to attain as much knowledge as possible on all aspects of a plant that God created to align with our body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS). I educated myself by pouring over 50 years of research funded by the United States government intended to be tested in Israel. After extensive exploration, I returned home to Alabama to share my knowledge and to fight for Alabamians to gain safe access to Medical Cannabis. I lived this daily as a career, but most importantly, as a patient and my passion to help others gain access to a natural alternative to prescription drugs in Alabama. Medical Cannabis can drastically improve a patient’s quality of life. Once you see this change, you can’t unsee it. I fought hard for SB46 now known as Act 2021-450, also known as the Darren Wesley “Ato” Hall Compassion Act to be passed, despite all of my medical battles. I was invited to attend as Governor Kay Ivey signed this bill. Governor Ivey personally thanked me for my concern, compassion, and hard work that I’d dedicated to the patients suffering in Alabama, and was given an autographed copy of the bill by Senator Melson. Unfortunately, that was THREE years ago, and countless patients including myself, are still suffering due to frivolous litigation that needs to be STOPPED. I am honored to have Amanda’s Corner as a platform to share my journey as a Medical Cannabis Patient Advocate and most importantly to give other patients who are suffering, a safe space to share their experiences and need for Medical Cannabis. I intend to focus on the patients and fight for those without a voice to advocate for themselves. I’ve sacrificed my health and quality of life by moving back to Alabama to help others and to join in this battle for what is morally right. Stay tuned to learn more about the benefits of Medical Cannabis and the truth about how this medication not only saved my life but how it can provide a better quality of life for qualified patients. I have seen more miracles than most can imagine, and I look forward to offering a vital platform that gives others a voice to share their stories. Please join me in this fight for patients’ rights to Medical Cannabis by signing our petition and I encourage you to consider donating to our cause that benefits patients in our community who need your support. From the deepest chambers of my heart, Amanda Taylor Medical Cannabis Patient Advocate
